Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join our manufacturing team.
This is a permanent role that provides a unique chance to significantly impact safety culture and ensure adherence to environmental and safety regulations at all levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and oversee health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives to guarantee compliance with relevant laws and company standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential risks and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Create and deliver training sessions to inform employees about safety practices, accident prevention, and environmental responsibility.
- Examine workplace incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and apply corrective measures to avert future occurrences.
- Collaborate with various teams and management to formulate strategic plans for ongoing improvements in safety and environmental performance.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of all necessary environmental permits, reports, and documentation.
- Lead the emergency response strategy and act as the primary contact during crises.
- Stay informed about industry trends, new regulations, and best practices in EHS management and integrate this knowledge into company policies.
Qualifications:
To excel in this position, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS capacity within a manufacturing context.
- Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations.
- Preferred certifications include Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of influencing and engaging staff at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to identify risks and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and EHS management software.
- Ability to respond effectively to emergencies and manage high-pressure situations.
- A commitment to staying current with advancements in the field and pursuing necessary training.
