Job Overview:

Soliant is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Georgia. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing exceptional educational support to students with diverse learning needs. You will develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborate with general education staff and families, and ensure that all students have the resources and support needed to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Execute Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create and implement tailored IEPs that cater to each student's unique needs and abilities.
  • Conduct Assessments and Identify Student Strengths: Conduct thorough assessments to identify student strengths and areas requiring intervention, and develop strategies to support student growth.
  • Modify and Adapt Curriculum: Modify and adapt the general education curriculum to accommodate students with disabilities, ensuring that all students have access to a high-quality education.
  • Implement Teaching Methods and Strategies: Implement a variety of teaching methods and strategies to support student learning and engagement, including small group and one-on-one instruction.
  • Collaborate with General Education Staff and Families: Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and parents to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor and Document Student Progress: Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments to teaching methods as necessary to ensure student success.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and confidential records of student assessments, progress, and IEPs.
  • Participate in Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or Related Field: Possess a Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate: Hold a valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Special Education.
  • Knowledge of IDEA and Relevant Regulations: Possess thorough knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Classroom Management Skills: Demonstrate strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience Working with Students with Disabilities: Have experience working with students with a range of disabilities and learning needs.
