Job Overview

The Night Shift Machine Operator in Greenville is a proficient position focused on the production of intricate engine components, utilizing advanced aerospace materials on state-of-the-art CNC machinery within a controlled, climate-regulated environment. Ideal candidates will engage in a collaborative team setting to pinpoint and execute enhancements in processes that lead to superior quality and streamlined product flow.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Duties:
  • Conduct machine setups, tool adjustments, offsets, and manage production on a variety of CNC and non-CNC equipment
  • Identify and implement process enhancements aimed at reducing setup durations and boosting quality and throughput through Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Execute precision tasks adhering to strict tolerances
  • Interpret and comprehend process operation sheets, tooling specifications, technical plans, and related documentation
  • Utilize blueprints and work instructions to manufacture components
  • Accurately measure parts and document dimensions
  • Adjust and reset tooling as necessary
  • Complete required special processes and operator certification prerequisites
  • Employ measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
  • Grasp Part Process Flow (incoming/outgoing)
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance inspections
  • Actively contribute as a member of a high-performance, self-directed work team with minimal oversight
  • Engage in tasks requiring manual dexterity
  • Fulfill all mandated compliance training
  • To effectively carry out the essential functions of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand for the majority of the shift and operate in a high-output environment
Qualifications / Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 1 year of full-time experience in manufacturing with manual or CNC machining involving milling, turning, lasering, and grinding processes or
  • An associate's degree or higher in a manufacturing or engineering field (e.g., Computer Integrated Machining or Engineering Technology) including completion of any recognized machinist or toolmaker apprenticeship or certification program
  • Must be willing to work Night Shift
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment physical/drug screening and ongoing random drug tests
Desired Attributes:
  • Ability to interpret layouts and dimensions from drawings and utilize manual gauges
  • Capability to load, align, and set up machines according to drawing specifications while maintaining quality production records
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and applying shop mathematics, along with a solid understanding of machining techniques and cutting tools
  • Strong computer skills are advantageous
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves, hats, and safety shoes)
