Individual Support Specialist

An opportunity exists for a dedicated Individual Support Specialist within the educational framework of Greenville County Schools. The selected individual will be expected to meet the qualifications outlined by the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. This position focuses on providing tailored assistance to students with unique learning requirements, collaborating with educators, and fostering a conducive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold an associate's degree from a recognized institution
  • Must have completed 60 semester hours from an accredited college
  • Must have successfully passed a state-approved assessment (such as Parapro Workkeys or Parapro by ETS)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in discussions with educators regarding student development
  • Deliver both small group and individualized educational support
  • Assist in maintaining classroom order and implementing behavior management strategies
  • Participate in training sessions organized by the district

Additional Information:

  • Supervision: Reports to the School Administrator or Program Coordinator
  • Performance Evaluation: Conducted by School Administration and/or Program Coordinator
  • Employment Duration: 9 1⁄4 months per year on Support/Annual Salary Schedule
