The Coordinator is responsible for obtaining and securing all necessary licenses and permits essential for the timely and budget-conscious construction of fiber and small cell projects. This role ensures adherence to all relevant agreements and regulatory standards throughout the phases of site selection, construction, and ongoing operations. Key responsibilities include the precise and timely submission of applications for required licenses, permits, and commercial electric service connections. The Coordinator will track application timelines, predict expected receipt of authorizations, and assist in addressing delays as needed, both internally and externally. A solid understanding of state and federal regulations, relevant construction codes, and processes is essential, along with regular collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The Coordinator must ensure timely updates to systems and maintain effective communication, developing operational expertise and proposing jurisdictional permitting and zoning solutions to both internal and external clients. Familiarity with municipal processes, codes, and ordinances, along with frequent interaction with local governments and jurisdictions, is required.
Key Responsibilities:Review project drawings for compliance with jurisdictional and utility standards.Submit and secure necessary authorizations, approvals, and agreements from jurisdictions and utilities for facility installations in public rights-of-way and on private properties.Address tactical challenges to ensure the successful, timely, and cost-effective acquisition of authorizations or service connections, including resolving application rejections or denials.Maintain timely system updates, including accurate forecasting and milestone tracking.Communicate effectively with all stakeholders throughout the network deployment and operational phases.Build and sustain strong relationships with utility and jurisdictional stakeholders.
Experience/Minimum Requirements:A minimum of two (2) years of experience in planning, zoning, land use, utility joint use, telecommunications, or relevant military experience.Proven ability to navigate corporate environments and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Expectations:Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with experience in negotiation.Strong organizational skills with the capacity to prioritize multiple competing tasks.Ability to understand contracts and agreements.Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and present compelling arguments to achieve desired outcomes.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.Attention to detail and a customer service-oriented mindset with a strong problem-solving approach.Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations related to licensing and permitting for fiber and small cells.Proficient in delivering presentations and speaking at both internal and external engagements.Willingness to travel to utilities, local governments, and municipalities as required.
Working Conditions: This role operates within a hybrid work model, requiring in-office presence from Monday to Thursday, with the option to work from home or the office on Fridays. Collaboration with teammates and stakeholders is essential, particularly for critical interactions that may necessitate travel.
