Permitting Specialist

Consol Mining Company LLC is seeking a highly skilled Permitting Specialist to join our team. As a Permitting Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating all work needed to obtain new permits and revise, renew, and modify existing permits for active operations and closed mine facilities in PA and WV.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept, embrace, and promote the Core Values of Consol Energy: Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Identify and prioritize permitting needs and requirements with manager and mine personnel
- Prepare permit applications in a self-reliant manner while utilizing expert independent consultants and contractors to ensure timely and complete permit submittal
- Closely monitor the permit application review and approval process with regulatory agencies and respond promptly to review requests to secure permit approval within the required time frame
- Assist the Reclamation and Project Compliance Engineer in preparing applications to obtain bond and permit releases after phase releases are complete and assist with land use change needs and prepare applications
- Maintain communications with Land Resources & Engineering on current and future projects in accordance with mine timing files
- Submit purchase order and change notice requests
- Approve, receive, and track contractor and consultant invoices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or related field plus 3 years of experience in environmental permitting. Mining industry experience preferred
- Self-starter who takes initiative to match the dynamic nature of the energy industry
- High level of attention to detail, ability to work independently, adjust priorities, and work in a continuously changing environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with team members within Permitting, Land Resources, Compliance, State and Federal Regulatory Agencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft applications
- Requires approximately 5% travel for mine site visits, investigations, and agency meetings
