Nurse Practitioner Acute Care Specialist

Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner Acute Care to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and promoting a culture of excellence and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education, in a fast-paced acute care setting.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Conduct health assessments, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to inform patient care decisions.
- Prescribe medications and treatments as appropriate, and educate patients and families on medication management and self-care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas or Compact State.
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certification in Acute Care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (not required for Employee Health, Primary Care, and Telemedicine departments).
- Prescriptive Authority (PA) certification.
- Narcotics License (DEA) within 6 months.
- Two years of registered nurse, advanced practice, or nurse practitioner clinical experience.
- Experience working in an acute care setting, preferably in a hospital or emergency department.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced environment.
