Job Summary

Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner Acute Care to join our team. Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education, in a fast-paced acute care setting.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Conduct health assessments, order diagnostic tests, and interpret results to inform patient care decisions.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments as needed, while ensuring patient safety and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas or Compact State.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certification in Acute Care.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (not required for Employee Health, Primary Care, and Telemedicine departments).
  • Prescriptive Authority (PA) certification.
  • Narcotics License (DEA) within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of registered nurse, advanced practice, or nurse practitioner clinical experience.
  • Experience working in an acute care setting, preferably in a hospital or healthcare system.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced environment.
