Fabrication Associate Job Summary

This position is responsible for safely setting up, operating, and shutting down various CNC fabricating, forming & VMC Machines. This position will have the responsibility to ensure the machine parts and production units are meeting or exceeding the required quality standards. Must also have the ability to train and work, and at times, lead continuous improvement teams. Work assignments will be scheduled based on training proficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup and Operation: Safely set up, operate, and shut down various CNC fabricating, forming & VMC Machines.
  • Quality Control: Ensure machine parts and production units meet or exceed quality standards.
  • Training and Development: Train and work with team members, and lead continuous improvement teams as needed.
  • Work Assignments: Work assignments will be scheduled based on training proficiency.
Requirements:
  • Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Basic math skills, communication and troubleshooting skills, demonstrated ability to use and interpret measurement tools, ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings, BOM's and associated procedures, ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision, flexibility and willingness to adapt to frequently changing priorities/tasks, demonstrated mechanical aptitude, basic math skills and problem-solving skills, ability to set-up and operate some of the CNC equipment, ability to identify, participate, lead, and communicate basic process improvements, works well in a team environment, capability to train others in manufacturing CNC techniques.
  • Minimum Education and Experience: High school diploma, GED or technical Certification preferred, 4 or more years of previous experience in operating specific specialized equipment or 3 years of demonstrated experience operating and setting up CNC equipment.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for 8 hours/day while making coordinated movements of the hands and fingers to grasp/pinch, manipulate and assemble objects. This may include frequent use of vibrating/pneumatic tools, overhead and outstretched reaching with arms, bending/twisting/stooping, kneeling/squatting and frequently lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. throughout the day and occasionally push/pull/lift to 100 lbs. as needed.
  • May be exposed to sharp edges, dust, high noise level, and tolerate a non-temperature-controlled environment.
  • Steel-toed shoes are required for working in this position.
