If you have a deep-seated interest in storage management and are adept at utilizing tape and disk management systems, this position could be an excellent match for your skills.

  • Deliver consistent support for system storage management, encompassing the administration of disk and tape resources, backups, catalogs, disaster recovery drills, VSAM, SMS, HSM, RMM, and CA1.
  • Strategize and implement modifications related to system storage, including the execution of new initiatives such as flashcopy, tape migration, and tape encryption.
  • Oversee the customization of new storage solutions and ensure a smooth transition for new accounts.

TS7700 Expertise - Demonstrated proficiency in VTS and ATL within a grid setup. Skilled in utilizing IBM tape tools for BVIR reporting and optimizing TS7700 performance.

DASD Management - Well-versed in DS8K and PMAX8000 systems, with hands-on experience in configuring new DASD. Familiar with SRDF and Global Mirror technologies.

Copy Export Process - Successfully implemented and enhanced the copy export workflow, showcasing expertise in recovery procedures during disaster recovery evaluations.

CA1 and RMM Proficiency - Experienced in utilizing Panels and JCL utilities, updating VPDS, RDS/VRS, and effectively managing housekeeping tasks and reporting.

DFSMS Knowledge - Proficient in updating SMS constructs and Client routines as per specifications, with the ability to generate and analyze DCOLLECT reports.

DFHSM Experience - Skilled in managing daily HSM responsibilities, including backups and migrations, CDS reorganization, and monitoring of primary and secondary space management.
