At SSM Health, we are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team. As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our medical imaging department.

Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing quality images for interpretation. This role requires a registered sonographer holding two or more registries appropriate for the department(s) in which the sonographer works.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Perform routine and complex studies and assist in a variety of imaging procedures.
  • Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, and other areas.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory agencies and work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of a Sonography certification program.
  • No experience required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients.

Required Professional License and/or Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Two ARDMS registries, which can include Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), OB/GYN, Vascular (RVS), or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).

Work Environment:

This role is a Day Shift position in the Ultrasound OPC-WZ department at SSM Health's Outpatient Center in Wentzville, MO. The scheduled weekly hours are 40 hours.
