Vice President of Corporate Communications

The Role
The Vice President of Communications will lead the development and implementation of a corporate communications strategy that protects and enhances Green Thumb Industries INC's standing as a trusted and leading operator in the cannabis industry.
This role will collaborate with executive leadership to align and articulate business priorities in a way that engages and motivates key stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of building and implementing a successful corporate communications strategy, with experience in corporate, executive, and crisis communications, media relations, internal and external communications, and public company communications.
Responsibilities- Lead the development and implementation of a corporate communications strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.
- Partner with executive leadership to align and articulate business priorities in a way that engages and motivates key stakeholders.
- Lead the build of internal and external communications for corporate programs and initiatives, including M&A, earnings, social impact, strategic partnerships, government affairs, and other company announcements.
- Lead and oversee an annual editorial calendar of key communication activities to share the company's story with each of its core audiences.
- Develop a proactive executive positioning plan for the CEO and President that enhances their leadership brand across stakeholders.
- Proactively lead targeted communications, including executive messages, talking points, strategic business updates, people-related communications, organization announcements, and other timely business messages.
- Handle sensitive or proprietary company information; proactively plan against and advise leadership during challenges and crises.
- Lead the Green Thumb Industries INC Communications team, inclusive of internal communications, employer brand, social media, website, public relations, and investor communications, to ensure alignment of activities and individual growth and development.
- 12+ years of experience in corporate, executive, and crisis communications, media relations, internal and external communications, and public company communications.
- Bachelor's degree required; degree in Communications or related field preferred.
- Ability to build cross-functional relationships and interact successfully at all levels of the company.
- Experience with a variety of communication channels, including social media.
- Experience directing and managing communication agencies.
- Critical thinker with superb storytelling, writing, editing, and presentation skills.
- Proven track record of building and implementing a successful corporate communications strategy.
- Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgment, common sense, and resourcefulness.
- Possesses a strong sense of urgency and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Adaptive problem solver who effectively navigates change and drives towards alignment; decides and acts without having the picture totally defined; appropriately changes strategy in response to new information.
- Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information.
