Position Summary: The Connecticut Institute for Communities, Inc. (CIFC) is in search of dedicated, full-time Early Head Start Teachers for our Danbury Early Learning Programs.
About Our Organization: At CIFC Early Learning Programs, we are devoted to delivering exceptional education, childcare, and family-centered curriculum to families eligible for Head Start, Early Head Start, and School Readiness. Every team member plays a vital role in fostering a nurturing environment that prepares families for kindergarten and future educational success.
Role Responsibilities: As an Infant/Toddler Early Head Start Teacher, you will be tasked with designing and executing engaging activities that support the social, physical, and cognitive development of infants and toddlers (ages 6 weeks to 3 years).
Key Duties Include:
- Creating weekly lesson plans for a classroom of 8 infants or 8 toddlers.
- Collaborating with a co-teacher to provide support for the children.
- Working alongside a classroom aide and a Family Advocate to assist students and their families.
- Receiving ongoing curriculum support and coaching from educational specialists.
- Accessing resources from a team of service area experts in early childhood education, social services, behavioral health, disabilities, and health.
- Documenting student observations using Teaching Strategies Gold integrated with Creative Curriculum.
- Enhancing language development through the use of LENA (Language ENvironment Analysis) technology.
- Communicating child routines with parents through Procare Software and Remind messaging.
Qualifications:
License/Certification:
- CDA Certification or 12 College Credits in Early Childhood Education (Required)
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Psychology (Preferred)
- Covid-19 vaccination required or willingness to be vaccinated prior to employment.
- Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
Experience:
- 1 year of teaching experience (Preferred)
- 1 year of childcare experience (Preferred)
