About the Role

Garden View Landscape, Nursery and Pools is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Nursery Sales Associate to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will play a vital role in assisting customers with plant selections and care, managing inventory, and ensuring the overall appearance and functionality of our nursery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Utilize excellent communication skills to assist with retail and wholesale customers, providing personalized service and ensuring a positive customer experience.
  • Plant Selection and Care: Greet and assist customers with plant selection based on their needs and preferences, providing expert advice on plant care and maintenance.
  • Order Processing and Delivery: Ring up orders, schedule deliveries and installations, and provide plant suggestions, quotes, and estimates to customers.
  • Inventory Management: Restock plants and materials, pull and load plants for customers, and maintain a clean and organized retail space.
  • Operational Tasks: Label and maintain plant signs, perform operational and sales tasks, and monitor for pests and diseases, taking appropriate action to treat affected plants.
Requirements
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, including listening, oral, and written skills.
  • Teamwork and Attitude: Reflect Garden View's core values of teamwork, positive attitude, responsibility, integrity, constant improvement, dedication, and efficiency.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and a self-starter mentality.
  • Computer Skills: Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry 15-20 lbs. repeatedly.
  • Availability: Must be willing to work weekends and some holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual: Highly preferred: bilingual in Mandarin, Cantonese, or Spanish and English.
  • Previous Sales Experience: Previous sales experience, particularly in a retail or wholesale environment.
  • Plant Knowledge: Knowledge of plant names, growth habits, and plant maintenance.
  • Organic Gardening: Interest in soil and organic gardening practices.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and other web-based programs.
  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Safety: Always keeping safety in mind.
