Purpose & Objective:

The role of Technician is crucial at Automax, as it involves executing the repairs and services that our sales team promotes.

In addition to performing the necessary work on customer vehicles, this position also entails inspecting vehicles to identify required repairs and services that can be communicated to customers by the sales team.


Job Responsibilities and Duties:

PRIMARY:


Expertly Completing Services and Repairs on Customer Vehicles: Technicians are expected to demonstrate mastery in their field, ensuring that all services and repairs are conducted with excellence, integrity, precision, and utmost care.


Collaborate with Office Staff to Achieve Company Sales Objectives with Integrity: Technicians are responsible for inspecting each vehicle and providing accurate quotes for necessary repairs and services to customers.

Occasionally, technicians will engage directly with customers to explain vehicle conditions and address any inquiries regarding required services or repairs.


SECONDARY:

Quality Assurance:

Conduct quality checks for fellow technicians and assist in vehicle cleaning if General Service Technicians are unavailable, all in line with company protocols.


Cleaning & Preparation:
Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment, free from debris and hazards. Additional responsibilities may arise based on business needs.

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


Must possess a valid US Driver's License, be insurable under the shop's insurance policy, and have the ability to operate a vehicle with passengers.

A minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience as a technician in an automotive repair facility is required.

Advanced understanding of passenger vehicle systems and mechanics.


Proficient in diagnostics for passenger vehicles, including utilizing diagnostic trees and performing tests to identify issues and necessary repairs.


Skilled in executing mechanical repairs and services on passenger vehicles, including the removal and reinstallation of parts and conducting service procedures.


Ability to perform thorough inspections on passenger vehicles to determine required services and repairs based on mileage and vehicle condition.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, including the ability to communicate effectively in both handwritten and typed formats.


Familiarity with computers and diagnostic tools for vehicle diagnostics, accessing repair instructions, and utilizing Customer Management Software is necessary.

This includes proficiency in using monitors, touch screens, mice, and keyboards.

Ability to lift over 50 lbs without assistance.

Capacity to stand for up to 60 minutes at a time.

Basic math and counting skills are required.


Ability to perform both major and fine motor skills necessary for repairs, services, vehicle inspections, or shop cleaning tasks.

This includes reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and other physical movements.
