Job Title: Warehouse Operations Supervisor

First Solar is seeking a highly skilled Warehouse Operations Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our warehouse operations team, you will be responsible for supervising shift operations, including leading a team of material handlers in the shipping and receiving of warehouse activities to ensure smooth operations in accordance with standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise shift operation, including supervising material handlers in the warehouse shipping and receiving activities to ensure smooth operations in accordance with standards and procedures.
  • Assist leads in managing allocation and work assignments of resources to ensure smooth operation; will provide coverage during headcount shortage.
  • Ensure correct workflow in the area to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Conduct minor troubleshooting and resolution.
  • Ability to perform daily receiving/shipping documentation, particularly computer data input.
  • Ensure issuance of material in accordance with requestor requirements in proper UOM.
  • Assist in training for new shift associates.
  • Assist in ongoing audits of process and product quality and safety.
  • Responsible for material handling and supply stocking to allow maximum productivity during shift.
  • Ensure and maintain inventory accuracy, striving for 98% accuracy.
  • Maintains and upkeep all equipment preventive maintenance schedules and records.
  • Manage attendance and performance problems and take appropriate disciplinary action.
  • Ensure shift operations are carried out in compliance with work rules and procedures.
  • Helps foster and build an empowered teamwork that constantly strives to improve performance and quality.
  • Ensure good housekeeping 5S and in accordance with all safety procedures.
  • Promotes a culture of safety.
  • Supports and/or participates in Warehouse Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Maintain and supervise warehouse cost control.
  • Ensure on time preventive maintenance of all warehouse MHE, tools and equipment; verify/signoff maintenance checklist or delivery order.
  • Coordinate shunting or interplant truck operation.
  • Assure adherence to all First Solar processes and procedures, including ISO9K, ISO14K, 45K, safety, housekeeping, etc. Ensures compliance with all good housekeeping standards and 5-S standards.
  • Accountabilities:
    • On time delivery of materials to production floor.
    • On time receipt of incoming materials.
    • Minimize Safety incidents (Recordable, MHE High Impact incidences etc.).
    • Zero Recordable.
    • Inventory Accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of warehouse operational experience.
  • Experience in MHE handling (licensed or certified were dictated by the regulatory requirements).
  • US: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Warehouse Operational Certification or Lean Certification preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of warehouse and inventory control concepts (FIFO, Kanban, cycle counting practices, etc.).
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills.
  • Ability to coach and lead a team of material handlers.
  • Ability to communicate in English and local language.
  • Meticulous attention to details.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes.
  • Must be team orientated.

Travel:

May travel up to 10% of time, including internationally.

Estimated Salary Range:

$51,900-$74,000 Annually

  • Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift.
  • Will climb stairs on an occasional basis.
  • Will lift, push or pull up to 27 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
  • 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required.
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards).
  • All associates working on the production floor may be required to wear a respirator at any given time and thus, the ability to wear a respirator is a condition of employment and continued employment (requires little or no facial hair).
