Once Upon a Childcare is seeking a dedicated Childcare Support Specialist to enhance our team.
Your role will involve executing the educational plan during teacher breaks or absences, ensuring cleanliness in all areas, and fostering a nurturing environment for every child in your care.
Requirements:
You must possess a qualifying letter from North Carolina, along with a recent TB test and physical examination prior to your start date.
Compensation begins at $20.00, commensurate with your education and experience. Regular pay increases are available based on adherence to program standards and expectations. We value our staff and provide pathways for career advancement.
Additional Benefits:
- Accrual of Personal Time Off (PTO) at a rate of 3.8 hours for every 40 hours worked, with no expiration on unused hours.
- Sick leave accrual at 2.6 hours for every 40 hours worked, capped at 48 hours annually, with unused hours rolling over.
- Holiday pay based on average hours worked, applicable after a 60-day probationary period.
- $100 monthly bonus for maintaining perfect attendance.
- Paid day off for your birthday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create engaging and imaginative lesson plans tailored for young children.
- Utilize diverse educational methods (such as storytelling and interactive play) to facilitate learning.
- Monitor each child's development to enhance their social skills and self-esteem.
- Encourage peer interactions and assist in conflict resolution.
- Guide children in developing their artistic and practical skills through a well-structured curriculum (including shapes, numbers, colors, and art).
- Track and report on children's progress to parents.
- Maintain regular communication with parents to understand each child's background and needs.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow educators.
- Ensure a clean and safe classroom environment in line with health and safety regulations.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in a licensed childcare setting.
- Possession of a qualifying letter (required before starting).
- Recent TB test and physical examination.
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation protocols for educational environments.
- Strong communication and teaching abilities.
- Capability to mediate conflicts among children.
- Friendly, reliable, and composed demeanor.
- Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain it.
