This role qualifies for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), which offers reimbursement for student loan payments. Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria in accordance with VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of their appointment.

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Citizenship: Must be a citizen of the United States.
  2. Language Proficiency: Must demonstrate proficiency in both spoken and written English.
  3. Educational Background: Completion of a comprehensive training program in diagnostic radiologic technology, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), lasting at least 24 months.
  4. Certification: All candidates must hold certification in general radiologic technology from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R).

Grade Criteria:

In addition to the fundamental requirements for appointment, the following criteria will be utilized to determine the appropriate grade assignment of candidates:

  1. Experience: A minimum of one year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, directly related to the position.
  2. Technical Skills: Ability to effectively balance the needs of patients and staff while executing complex scans and procedures.
  3. Knowledge Base: Familiarity with techniques for gathering pertinent information from medical records and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Organizes exam schedules to maximize scanner efficiency while accommodating emergency cases.
  2. Collaborates with radiologists to ascertain requirements for non-standard examinations.
  3. Conducts neuroangiography and peripheral and visceral angiography utilizing advanced x-ray technology.
  4. Mentors and trains rotating x-ray students and technologists.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Recruitment Incentive: Not authorized

Compensation: Competitive salary with regular salary increments.
