About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our Construction Materials Testing team at ECS Ltd. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our testing services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory testing on construction materials, including soils and concrete, under the supervision of senior technicians and other lab staff.
  • Conduct routine laboratory tests using various methodologies and testing equipment, following industry standards and compliance.
  • Assist with tasks to maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness, in compliance with Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) initiatives.
  • Notify supervisor of broken or missing equipment as needed.
  • Conduct routine laboratory tests for soils, including Atterberg limits, gradation analyses, swell testing, moisture content testing, unconfined compressive strength testing, standard and modified proctor testing, and visually classify soils.
  • Conduct routine laboratory tests for concrete, including labeling and setting samples for curing, monitoring temperature logs, and breaking of samples.
  • Perform calculations and data reduction based on test results, and demonstrate competency of testing methods by documenting results accurately.

Requirements
  • No experience required.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be willing to obtain and maintain laboratory certifications for concrete or soils.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing).
  • Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
