Good Shepherd Health Care is seeking a Part-Time Chaplain to provide spiritual presence, counsel, guidance, and coordination of Soul Care to patients, their families, and staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong faith background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations. Responsibilities include:

* Providing short-term soul care in the Emergency Department and as needed on the units
* Collaborating with patients' Area Ministers to provide a more whole person-centered hospital visit or stay
* Coordinating the planning and provision of Soul Care services for patients/families
* Recording significant elements of soul care encounters and integrating them into patients' plans of care
* Reporting to the Soul Care Manager and Nursing Supervisor as scheduled and needed
* Assisting in critical incidents and providing support to employees
* Attending professional chaplaincy training

Qualifications:

* Written endorsement from a local congregation
* Ability to maintain relationships characterized by mutual support, open communication, trust, and respect
* Ability to assess and respond sensitively to cultural and religious diversity
* Computer literacy with EPIC (EMR) for charting patient/family interventions
* Flexibility with on-call scheduling
* Willingness to travel for specialized training

Preferred qualifications include bilingualism and/or English-Spanish speaking, as well as experience in grief counseling, hospice volunteering, Critical Incident Stress Management, and Stephens Ministry. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a culturally diverse population and possess excellent communication skills.
