Job Summary

Lutheran Social Services (LSS) is a leading provider of human services in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at Aspen Center, a 32-bed residential treatment facility in Waukesha County.

As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will provide addiction counseling and case management services to clients in an outpatient, residential, or case management setting. You will work closely with clients to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, provide employment specialist services, and coordinate with community resources to support client success.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position with primarily 1st shift hours and occasional evening hours. You will be working under the direction of a program and clinical supervisor and will be responsible for providing a high level of excellence in communication, both written and verbal.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g., counseling, social work, psychology)
  • Valid SAC-IT, SAC, CSAC, or equivalent licensure through WI DSPS
  • 1 year of experience working with a correctional population (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of addictions and recovery, counseling, and case management principles and methods
