Criminology and Justice Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Criminology and Justice at the University of Alabama.

The Department of Criminology and Justice is a dynamic and growing unit within the College of Arts and Sciences, with a strong commitment to research, teaching, and service. We are seeking a candidate who will contribute to the department's mission and goals, and who will be an excellent teacher, researcher, and mentor.

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in criminology and justice, including introductory courses, upper-level electives, and graduate seminars.
• Develop and maintain a research program that contributes to the field of criminology and justice, and that involves undergraduate and graduate students.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, including serving as a thesis advisor and committee member.
• Participate in departmental and college service, including serving on committees and contributing to departmental and college initiatives.

• Ph.D. in Criminology, Justice, or a related field.
• Established research agenda and a strong potential for securing external funding.
• Excellent teaching and mentoring skills, with a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students, and to contribute to a positive and inclusive departmental and college environment.
