About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Software Engineering Leader to join our team at Walmart. As a key member of our Global People Technology & Services organization, you will play a critical role in guiding our technology strategy and driving operational excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert in observability, continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), systems architecture, and software engineering.
  • Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic guidance and hands-on support in the development of best practices, architectural designs, and technology solutions.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor teams in the implementation of complex systems, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the continuous improvement of our technology stack and processes.
  • Emerging Trends: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in software engineering, advocating for their adoption where appropriate.
  • Quality and Scalability: Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and resilient systems that meet business goals and customer needs.
  • Code Reviews and Troubleshooting: Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and troubleshooting sessions to ensure the highest standards of development.
  • Culture and Accountability: Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and inclusivity within the team.
Requirements
  • Deep Technical Expertise: A distinguished engineer should have extensive knowledge in their field, including advanced concepts in software engineering, system architecture, and technology trends.
  • Leadership and Influence: The ability to lead by example, mentor junior engineers, and influence decision-making processes at all levels of the organization is vital.
  • Strategic Thinking: A strategic mindset to align technical initiatives with business goals is essential.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving Skills: Distinguished engineers are expected to tackle some of the most challenging problems in the organization.
  • Effective Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication skills are necessary to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and effectively negotiate and resolve conflicts.

  • Competitive Compensation: We offer a competitive salary range of $132,000.00-$264,000.00 per year.
  • Performance-Based Bonuses: Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
