About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Enterprise People Technology team at Walmart Global Tech. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing digital solutions that drive business growth and improve the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy scalable, secure, and high-performance APIs, microservices, and components using technologies like Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, RDBMS, and NoSQL DB.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, product lines, and business units, to drive forward results and commitment to team success.
  • Perform design and code reviews, suggest improvements to ensure the highest level of quality and maintainability.
  • Oversee development lifecycles, analyze application logs, maintenance activity data, and performance data to provide analysis and evaluate change requests.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area, and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area, and 1 year's experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Strong aptitude for writing efficient code using Advanced Java.
  • Strong algorithm and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong skills in Java, Spring, JPA, JUnit, REST services, design patterns, and open-source tools.
  • Strong command over UI technologies like HTML 5, JavaScript, React, and Bootstrap.
  • Strong skills in messaging platforms like Kafka.
  • Strong test-driven development skills.
  • Good experience of databases like DB2, MS SQL, and NoSQL databases such as Cassandra.
  • Hands-on experience in Cloud platforms (Azure), Git, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.
  • Scripting skills in at least one of the following - Shell, Bash.
