Position Overview:

As a Senior Software Engineer within the Intelligent Business Growth division, you will be responsible for architecting, coding, and launching AI-driven data decision platforms, ensuring optimal scalability and performance through sophisticated technical solutions and resilient system design.

The Intelligent Business Growth team enhances the financial planning process by leveraging a comprehensive suite of AI functionalities to revolutionize decision-making at every stage. Sam's Club operates as a membership-based warehouse club, delivering exceptional products at prices that surpass traditional retail offerings. The club not only curates a wide range of items but also pioneers technologies and services such as Scan & Go, Club Pickup, and select home delivery options. Additionally, Sam's Club offers various services including travel, auto purchasing, pharmacy, optical, hearing aid centers, tire and battery services, and a suite of business operation support services.

Key Responsibilities:

In this pivotal role, you will engage in the development of advanced AI-powered data decision platforms for Sam's AI systems. Your primary duties will encompass:

  • Designing, coding, testing, and deploying innovative technical solutions utilizing BDD/TDD methodologies and agile testing frameworks.
  • Participating in code and design evaluations to uphold high development standards.
  • Developing system architecture that guarantees scalability, reliability, and performance while constructing REST APIs, microservices, and data flows.
  • Creating data models using SQL (MS SQL) and NoSQL (Cassandra, Graph DB), and formulating solutions, frameworks, and tools for Sam's Club AI Labs.
  • Architecting and designing solutions to eliminate performance bottlenecks and enhance automation efficiency.
  • Building tools and portals by leveraging comprehensive full-stack expertise.
  • Developing proof of concepts, prototypes, and experimental solutions.
  • Managing operations, monitoring, and maintenance of hosted services, products, reports, and analytics to ensure exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience and the following qualifications:

  • 8+ years of robust programming experience in Java/Python for service development, along with SQL/No-SQL expertise.
  • 5+ years' experience in software design and programming languages, including Java, Python (utilizing Flask/FastAPI), and JavaScript.
  • 5+ years' experience with software build management tools such as Maven, Gradle, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years' experience in software testing, performance, and quality engineering methodologies.
  • 4+ years' experience in cloud technologies, particularly Azure or GCP.
  • 3+ years' experience in HTML, CSS, and frontend/web development.
