Ancora Home Health and Hospice is seeking a skilled Volunteer Coordinator to manage and grow our hospice volunteer program. This role involves close working relationships with current and potential volunteers, as well as community outreach with outside organizations.
The ideal candidate will be motivated, organized, and have a desire to create meaningful connections. They will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing volunteers, as well as strengthening the volunteer program through community outreach.
The Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with the hospice team to best pair volunteers with patients, and will be provided with the tools and support needed to succeed.

As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Planning, coordinating, and supervising delivery of all volunteer services
- Assigning volunteers to service based on program needs and the volunteer's interests and skills
- Recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new volunteers
- Designing and supervising the orientation and training of volunteers
- Monitoring and evaluating volunteer performance
- Ensuring compliance with hospice policies and procedures
- Planning and conducting volunteer support meetings and required education
- Maintaining relationships with other program leaders
- Attending hospice IDG meetings and acting as a liaison between volunteers and IDG team members
- Complying with hospice infection control policies and protocols
- Participating in in-service programs and presenting in-services as assigned
- Completing hospice training program
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Administrator
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
- A high school diploma
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a related field preferred; previous volunteer activity a plus
- Ability to complete the hospice training program upon hire
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills among different types of personalities
- Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgement
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable automobile; proof of current automobile insurance
- Criminal background check clearance/fingerprint clearance
- Negative TB test required
- Current CPR certification
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The Volunteer Coordinator will be required to:
- Stand, kneel, squat, reach, twist, climb, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Have sight/hearing senses or use appropriate adaptive devices that will enable senses to function at a level required to meet essential duties of this position
- Work independently and remain flexible with changing situations
- Possess good interpersonal skills and ability work with those with differing backgrounds and beliefs
- Cope with mental and emotional stress and demonstrate emotional stability
