Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Fairview Health Services. This role will involve performing a wide range of diagnostic testing in the disciplines of ultrasound and quality assurance.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with technical accuracy and in a timely manner.
- Verify patient identification and documentation, and review physician orders prior to exams or procedures.
- Communicate pertinent information to healthcare professionals and achieve quality diagnostic images through accurate patient positioning and use of technical factors.
- Recognize structures visualized and understand their significance, and accurately produce and record measurements according to protocols.
- Participate in crafting a culture of patient safety and demonstrate knowledge of emergency preparedness for the facility.
- Apply established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing procedures.
- Ensure patient data integrity and adhere to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/procedures.
- Accurately document in compliance with regulatory agency requirements, complete computer functions, edit, scheduling, and billing status changes.
- Follow infection control guidelines and serve as a resource for other healthcare team members.
- Accurately image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving.
- Assess the validity of test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substances.
- Assemble similar relevant exams and reports, and document initial and ongoing data, interventions, responses/results, or interventions consistent with established policies/procedures/guidelines.
- Directly communicate abnormal results to caregivers, and complete all required continuing education to uphold imaging licensure.
- Participate as an active team member, participate in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives, and responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position.
- Clean and maintain room and supplies, provide coordinated services with customers and care partners to ensure high-quality care, and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Correctly operate equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines, identify and respond to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working accurately.
- Maintain a high standard of proficiency and accept new technology as it is introduced into the facility.
- Participate in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations.
- Education at a level to be ARDMS registry eligible, including successful completion of sonography clinical requirements.
- ARDMS registered in one specialty or ARRT RT (S) registered within 90 days of employment.
- Additional registrations may be required for specific locations based on the sites accreditations (for example: ACR, AIUM, IAC) and/or regulatory requirements.
- Basic Life Support - from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
- ARDMS registered in multiple specialties.
