Business Development Representative

MAPFRE Insurance is seeking a dynamic Business Development Representative to drive profitable growth in their assigned territory. The successful candidate will be an independent self-starter who can establish productive agency relationships, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have a tenacious desire to succeed.
Key Responsibilities- Manage agency relationships by supporting Business Development Representatives and Managers, ensuring that MAPFRE Insurance establishes and maintains the primary position for our automobile lines of business and our strategic position for the other lines of business for each agency in the assigned territory.
- Monitor agency progress towards growth and profitability growth.
- Assist in profitable growth of multi-state agency system by working and engaging with existing agencies.
- Bachelor's Degree or professional level of knowledge in a specialized field, or equivalent, related experience.
- 0 - 2 years of experience, or Associates Degree equivalent plus 2 - 4 years.
- General knowledge of industry practices, standards, and concepts within field of work.
- Decision Making: Learns to make decisions and recommendations for varied situations, applying judgment to interpret related information, policies, and procedures.
- Supervision Received: Works independently under moderate to general supervision, receiving specific and detailed instructions on new types of work.
- Leadership: Works as an individual contributor. Learns the job.
- Problem Solving /Operations/Direct Work Involvement: Develops solutions to a variety of problems, typically of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to and interprets policies and practices for guidance.
- Client Contacts: Contacts other departments and or external organizations or parties frequently. Contacts are primarily at or below upper management levels. Represents organization on specific projects. Communication may involve persuasion, and negotiation.
- Previous sales experience desired.
- Skills in persuasion and influencing.
- Strong ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong listening and communication skills. Communication is primarily task-related and involves creating and delivering varied types of messages and information.
- Analytical skills.
- Strong Time Management.
