Position Summary

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in delivering essential personal care and supportive services to senior clients. This position involves working under the guidance of the In-Home Supervisor to ensure the well-being and comfort of elderly individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver personal care and supportive services to senior clients, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, housekeeping, and home management.
  • Provide personal hygiene assistance, mobility support, dressing, and other essential care tasks.
  • Administer basic medical treatments as permitted by the Certified Nurse Aide scope of practice.
  • Document client progress and report any changes in health status to the supervisor.
  • Encourage clients towards self-sufficiency and independence.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients and daycare participants.
  • Observe and assist clients with feeding, grooming, and personal care needs.
  • Participate in structured activities for daycare participants.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a solid understanding of the care and treatment of both acutely and chronically ill clients. Skills in observing and assessing health care needs are essential, along with the ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively with older adults from diverse backgrounds.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with some experience as a certified nurse aide. This role demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift and move clients as necessary.

Special Requirements
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Current listing as Nurse Aide I with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Ability to obtain a baseline Tuberculosis Skin Test prior to employment.
