Parking Service Technician Job Description

Job Summary:

The Parking Service Technician will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on parking garage equipment, conducting facility inspections, and providing excellent customer service to facility patrons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrols off-street parking facilities to identify and correct hazards, perform light maintenance, and provide customer service.
  • Conducts daily patrols in all garages and lots, collects used tickets, refills equipment, and performs other related duties.
  • Tests and troubleshoots equipment such as pay stations, entry and exit verifiers, and assists with light mechanical repairs.
  • Ensures that automatic gate and ticket dispensing equipment operates harmoniously with the overall parking garage operation.
  • Operates small machinery, including pressure washers, gas blowers, sweepers, and cord drills.
  • Performs light painting and touch-ups, assists with graffiti removal, and conducts daily visual inspections of elevators.
  • Conducts facility inspections, performs general custodial duties, and installs small parking signs.
  • Erects barricades, places parking direction signs, and fills out daily reports of duties performed.
  • Operates operational computer software and conducts light maintenance within the facility.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of parking garage equipment maintenance and repair practices.
  • Ability to work from oral and written instructions.
  • Skills in using small hand or power tools.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
  • Sufficient physical strength and ability to perform heavy manual labor.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work on internal computer programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.

Working Conditions:

The Parking Service Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, exposed to various weather conditions, and will be required to lift heavy equipment and materials.
