The primary objective of the Certified Nursing Assistant role is to deliver routine daily nursing care and services to the assigned residents, in alignment with their individualized care plans.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Engages in duties and responsibilities within a nursing home environment, which may encompass, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

- Maintains consistent attendance and punctuality.
Offers personal care to residents in a manner that ensures their safety and comfort, adhering to facility policies and state/federal regulations.
- Strives to honor resident preferences and choices in all aspects of care.- Identifies and rectifies safety hazards in patient care areas, acknowledging personal accountability for all patient safety aspects.
- Adheres to established policies, practices, and standards for nursing services.
- Encourages and supports the highest possible level of independence for residents.
- Informs the charge nurse of residents' conditions at the start and end of shifts.
- Provides insights into residents' conditions and documents observations as required.
- Fosters a safe and clean environment.
- Complies with procedures for safe lifting and/or transferring of residents according to established guidelines.
- Ensures that equipment is clean and operational, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
Performs incidental housekeeping or maintenance tasks as necessary to maintain a clean, hazard-free environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
- Utilizes personal protective equipment as required when performing personal care tasks.- Conducts regular rounds on the assigned unit to ensure the environment is tidy, odor-free, and orderly, making corrections as needed. This includes resident rooms, hallways, public restrooms, shower rooms, dining areas, and other common spaces.
- Completes daily documentation as required, including restorative programming and computerized records.
- Implements restorative programs as directed.
- Is knowledgeable about the abuse prevention policy and understands the responsibility to enforce it.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Requirements:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
State certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
CPR certification preferred.
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
No disqualifying criminal offenses as defined by regulatory guidelines.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
Participates in in-service and educational programs.
Completes required in-services on time as assigned.
Completes 12 hours of in-service annually as mandated to maintain certification.
Keeps CPR certification current.
