Position Summary:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice Technician who possesses a solid mechanical understanding and a strong eagerness to develop skills in the field. In this apprenticeship role, you will support various tasks associated with the maintenance, modification, and enhancement of commercial truck bodies and their components. This position offers a practical experience where you will collaborate with experienced technicians.
Primary Duties:
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in the maintenance, modification, and repair of truck bodies and components.
- Welding components to existing truck frames and fabricating or attaching new bodies.
- Preparing, sanding, and refinishing truck bodies and parts.
- Removing and replacing damaged components or fabricating parts using both power and hand tools.
- Ensuring adherence to safety regulations concerning paints, thinners, and other hazardous materials.
- Following guidance from senior technicians to guarantee quality workmanship.
Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- A good mechanical understanding and a strong willingness to learn.
- Basic hand tools are recommended but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in vocational training or body shop work is preferred but not essential.
- A readiness to take direction and work effectively with seasoned technicians.
- The ability to adhere to safety standards and shop protocols.
