We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at UNC Health. As a key member of our vascular team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic medical sonography examinations to evaluate patients with vascular disease.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct patient clinical assessments and perform diagnostic medical sonography examinations in accordance with facility protocols.
- Apply independent judgment during the sonography examination to ensure that appropriate anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are accurately captured in the examination images.
- Review examination images, synthesize examination results, and prepare preliminary reports for providers.
- Ensure reports are complete and accurate with all billing requirements.
- Adhere to all requirements for IAC accreditation, including quality assurance reviews.
- Assist with the daily operation of a high-paced vascular surgery practice.
- Assist in prioritizing assigned work based on workflow fluctuations.
- Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field within 3 months of hire, OR completion of a 12-month ultrasound program within 3 months of hire.
- Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire. Must maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
- Strong vascular experience or interest in vascular imaging.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work and prosper in a team environment.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy knowledge, understanding of physiology and how it relates to vascular conditions.
