Job Overview

The IT Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the desktop computing environment. As a key member of the Systems Support team, this individual acts as the initial point of contact for technical assistance and is vital in the support escalation process. The specialist collaborates with the infrastructure team to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges faced by end-users while also maintaining the Windows back-end systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver first-level support to all personnel within Buckingham Strategic Wealth, accommodating both on-site and remote users.
  • Oversee and manage support tickets in the Systems Support Ticketing Queue, ensuring prompt follow-up and resolution.
  • Provide assistance for various IT infrastructure components, including network and server systems, laptops, desktops, mobile devices, printers, telecommunication devices, and other network-connected peripherals.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance both client-facing and internal documentation for ongoing reference.
  • Manage the provisioning, configuration, and tracking of IT assets, including infrastructure, workstations, telecommunication devices, and supplies.
  • Coordinate with IT personnel regarding escalations, issue tracking, workload distribution, and the overall management of IT support services.
  • Contribute actively to team efforts by collaborating with colleagues, identifying opportunities to enhance user satisfaction, and enriching the knowledge base of the IT Support team.
  • Support and enforce the organization's IT policies and procedures across the firm.
  • Assist in setting up and troubleshooting video conferencing and other audio-visual equipment utilized by staff.
  • Engage in various technology-driven initiatives within the organization.
  • Facilitate training for new employees on IT policies, procedures, and best practices, as well as provide ongoing refresher training.
  • Responsible for the creation of new user accounts (Active Directory, telecommunication systems, etc.).
  • Manage the decommissioning process for users.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and recommend suitable solutions to support the firm’s business objectives.
  • Availability for in-office work at least two days per week.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in technology support, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and efficiency in a fast-paced work environment, with a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Familiarity with the following technologies:
    • Microsoft O365/M365
    • Mobile Device Management solutions
    • Inventory management systems
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining workstation and server hardware.
    • Basic understanding of networking principles.
    • Proficient in workstation troubleshooting and maintenance, including imaging.
    • Knowledge of DNS and DHCP configurations.
    • Experience with enterprise-level antivirus solutions.
    • Familiarity with Windows support tools.
  • Experience with VOIP telephony systems.
  • Proficiency in collaboration tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Able to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Experience with Mac OS support is a plus.

This position offers a competitive salary along with opportunities for annual bonuses and long-term incentives.
