About the Role:

We are in search of a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Analyst for Marketing and Sales to provide essential financial insights that will support our marketing division. This position will involve managing budgets, assessing the effectiveness of marketing strategies, and overseeing trade expenditures. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in financial analysis and budgeting, along with a strong interest in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform financial assessments of marketing initiatives to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Evaluate financial performance against key metrics and document significant financial insights.
  • Analyze sales and marketing data to uncover trends, discrepancies, and opportunities.
  • Assist with various financial analysis and reporting requests as needed.
  • Support the formulation and management of the annual marketing budget.
  • Track and monitor marketing expenses to ensure they align with budgetary objectives.
  • Create and regularly update financial forecasts based on actual performance.
  • Assess the financial implications of trade promotions and recommend optimization strategies.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards related to trade spending.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing programs.
  • Generate and maintain consumer spending reports and communicate findings to stakeholders on a set timeline.
  • Ensure compliance with licensee agreements regarding marketing expenditures.
  • Provide quarterly marketing reporting for royalty assessments.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, sales, and finance/accounting teams to ensure cohesive financial planning and analysis.
  • Engage in cross-functional meetings to offer financial insights and support decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, ideally within the CPG industry.
  • Strong skills in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience with trade spending analysis and promotional evaluations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with marketing programs is a plus.
