Mission of the Position
As an Inverter Design Engineering Student, you'll work with our eDrive Systems electrification group on various projects throughout the co-op program. You'll assist Inverter Design Engineers with the design, development, analysis, and testing of electric motors for electric traction drives. Your tasks will include contributing to eDrive architecture, performing inverter system requirements analysis, and supporting modeling to define the optimum inverter system design.

Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the design and development of eDrive architecture by understanding system requirements and subsystem requirements related to the inverter system from both external and internal sources.
Perform inverter system requirements analysis and support modeling to define the optimum inverter system design.
Carry out competitor analysis (benchmarking) of different inverter system solutions in the transportation market.

Be an active contributor to the eDS group to advance the progress of Magna's electrified products.
Advance the knowledge of the automotive industry, specifically electrified powertrains, and driveline components.
Learn about the detailed design and development of inverter system technologies for eDrive applications.

Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
Enrolled in an engineering program with an accredited school.
Preferably working towards or has a Bachelor of Science in the field of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Some level of analytical ability and understanding of engineering theory and principles of design.
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment and perform assigned tasks related to the electrification of automobiles.
Preferably have a good understanding of electromagnetic principles.

Work Environment
Office environment; minimum travel required. While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes, and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
