Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Release Engineer to join our team at Altair. This individual will be responsible for the successful prototype build of the Beta IP & Cockpit Assembly, leading the Beta Prototype design and release of the Instrument Panel and Cockpit system, and representing Interiors onsite daily at build events in Auburn Hills, MI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Beta Prototype design and release of the Instrument Panel and Cockpit system.
  • Represent Interiors onsite daily at build events in Auburn Hills, MI.
  • Support Full Service Supplier Cockpit Assembler build event in Shelby Township, MI.
  • Lead Build to Print Cross Car Beam.
  • Lead all Cockpit related open issues ensure communication with production Design and Release Team.
  • Lead Validation as needed.
  • Manage costs and timelines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent.
  • 8 years of vehicle design and release experience in Instrument Panel and Cockpit Designs with several launches completed.
  • Undeniable passion for Automotive Interiors.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T / RSS Tolerance stack.
  • Knowledge of design considerations required for plastic/composite components.
  • Proven communication and team building skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
  • Catia v5 knowledge a plus.
