MRI Imaging Specialist

MedStar Health is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations according to established imaging protocols. Your primary duties will include conducting patient interviews, identifying contraindicated implants and foreign bodies, and performing appropriate examinations based on patient history.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct patient interviews to identify contraindicated implants, foreign bodies, and other medical conditions of concern.
- Identify and perform appropriate examinations based on patient history.
- Verify prescription and protocol, and use appropriate imaging parameters.
- Inject contrast based on patient weight after verifying the patient's renal function status.
- Verify image quality prior to ending the examination.
- Appropriately document examination.
- Verify the examination is correct in both Cerner, PACS, Pen Rad, and Dyna CAD (when applicable).
- Associate degree or formal training in an American Medical Association accredited school of Radiologic Technology/Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
- Job-related experience and/or successful completion of a formal MRI educational training program.
- Successful completion of either the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) MRI examination or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) examination within one year of date of hire for unregistered technologists.
- BLS (Basic Life Support).
