Project Engineering Manager

Job Summary
As a Project Engineer - Temporary Works, you will be responsible for managing the communication and coordination with Flatiron's Construction Engineering Group to ensure the most optimized, efficient, and cost-effective temporary works designs for the project.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet with construction and field crews to review production schedules and confirm all materials, equipment, and resources are readily available for production to continue on schedule and within budget.
- Review temporary works design specifications, material requirements, and project data through the duration of the project to ensure quality and contract specification compliance.
- Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling, identifying risk elements of production, materials, equipment, or process that could negatively impact the budget or schedule.
- Evaluate daily production, schedule, and budget projections to accurately track project performance.
- Document daily activities in Company-approved methods and technologies.
- Update project schedules weekly for owner and management reporting.
- Present on project production status as needed.
- Notify engineering and project management of any significant schedule changes and develop solutions to mitigate delays and costs.
- Initiate and manage all Requests for Information (RFIs), as needed by the project.
- Remit accurate project quantities using assigned project cost coding to ensure project financials are accurately reported.
- Manage invoicing with Company accounting teams regarding materials, equipment, and subcontractor needs.
- Support engineering teams with quality assurance as needed.
- Review required Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) to ensure a safe and compliance work environment for all construction personnel.
- Participate in all weekly safety meetings with field teams and project leadership, presenting field analysis as needed.
- Assist estimating teams with project schedules, budgets, and cost parameters by providing technical input as needed.
- Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedules, and crews as needed.
- Reconcile job close-out checklists with owner representatives and field crews at the end of the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
- ~ 5+ years of construction engineering experience required, with a focus on temporary works.
- ~ Professional Engineering License preferred.
- ~ Experience in resource monitoring techniques (i.e., cost accounting, basic estimating) and construction technology, process systems, and/or structures preferred.
- ~ Ability to identify budget and project costs and recommend options to mitigate project delays.
- ~ Knowledge of financial reporting methods, quantity tracking methods, and cost coding.
