Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer II to join our team at the City of Laredo Utilities Department. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and reviewing engineering standards, providing customer service, and overseeing the development of water and sewer improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and review engineering design and standards for water and sewer infrastructure projects
  • Provide customer service and coordination between consultants, engineers, staff, and other departments
  • Oversee the development of water and sewer improvements for new subdivisions and respond to complaints and inquiries
  • Provide updates on water system connections and compare data with TCEQ requirements
  • Assist with capital improvement projects and provide technical advice as needed
  • Coordinate with other utility departments to identify conflicts with existing or proposed infrastructure
  • Submit Council Communication agendas
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • At least one year of experience in civil, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering or related field
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) License
