**Job Overview**
">We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Security Specialist to join our team at the Civil Commitment Unit for Sex Offenders (CCUSO). As a key member of our security staff, you will provide direct-care services that balance both security and treatment needs. Your role will be instrumental in creating a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals with mental abnormalities and/or personality disorders who have been convicted of a sex offense.
">About CCUSO
">The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services operates the Civil Commitment Unit for Sex Offenders (CCUSO), a secure, long-term facility providing intensive treatment and custodial care to sexual offenders who have served their prison terms but are deemed likely to reoffend. Our 5-phase treatment program includes group and individual therapy, psycho-educational programming, physiological assessments, and transitional release. Patients may also receive court-ordered community supervision through supervised release.
">Your Responsibilities
">As a Psychiatric Security Specialist, your duties will include:

- SUPERVISION OF PATIENT ACTIVITIES: Supervise various patient activities within the CCUSO facility, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.">
- FACILITATION OF THERAPEUTIC GROUPS: Facilitate psycho-educational group activities, promoting positive change and personal growth among patients.">
- PATIENT SUPERVISION DURING MEDICAL TRIPS: Supervise patients on medical trips outside the facility, ensuring their safety and well-being.">
