Job Summary

The Production Material Handler I plays a critical role in maintaining accuracy and control of inbound and outbound materials and Kanban levels in designated production areas. This position requires minimal supervision and involves maintaining accurate logs, files, and computer systems for material receipts, issues, returns, and Lot control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels in Kanban and reconcile shortages or overages.
  • Process daily material issues and returns.
  • Maintain inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory.
  • Locate materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Monitor and maintain Kanban inventory levels in designated production areas where material is stored for production use.
  • Perform material transactions/functions required to issue, handle, and/or record materials transactions.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, safe work area.
  • Escalate issues to supervisor for resolution as deemed necessary.
  • Able to operate material handling equipment.
  • Follow all safety rules and guidelines.
  • Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
  • Process material requests in a timely manner to support manufacturing production areas.
  • Participate in job rotation to be cross-trained in secondary job responsibilities.
  • Issue materials to production floor and maintain material traceability.
  • Adhere to the Company's Quality Management System (QMS) and relevant security, privacy, and compliance principles.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or general education degree (GED) with 1+ years recent or comparable experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Computer experience.
  • Ability to follow written instructions.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices helpful.
  • Satisfactory completion of background check.
  • Ability to work day shift hours of 7 am to 3:30 pm.
Working Conditions
  • Stockroom and cleanroom environments.
  • Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
  • Requires some lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms, and to use a computer for extended periods of time, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to read, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Compensation

Starting base pay is $28.00/hour plus 10% shift differential. Individual compensation will vary over time based on factors such as performance, skill level, competencies, work location, and shift.
