Job Description

Penumbra is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join our team in Alameda, California. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing all production activities and ensuring that processes are performed according to current standard operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production process and schedule to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Estimate production costs and ensure that production is cost-effective.
  • Monitor production processes and maintain schedules to ensure timely delivery of finished products.
  • Determine human and material resource requirements to support production activities.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards, implement quality control programs, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with different departments, including purchasing, engineering, and quality assurance, to implement company policies and goals.
  • Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed and that employees are trained and equipped to perform their duties safely.
  • Participate in the selection, training, and evaluation of production supervisors and training coordinators.
  • Identify training needs and develop training programs to support employee development.
  • Manage and develop staff, establish objectives and assignments, and provide ongoing feedback through performance reviews and development plans.
  • Adhere to the Company's Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance with domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures.
  • Understand relevant security, privacy, and compliance principles and adhere to applicable regulations, standards, and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of supervisory experience in the medical device or related industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop team members and to address performance issues effectively.
  • Experience with MRP and lean manufacturing is highly desired.
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday, 3 pm to 11:30 pm.

Working Conditions:

  • General office, laboratory, and cleanroom environments.
  • Willingness and ability to work on-site. May have business travel from 0% - 10%.
  • Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
  • Requires some lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to move between buildings and floors.
  • Must be able to remain stationary and use a microscope, cleanroom or laboratory equipment, or other standard office equipment, for an extensive period of time each day.
  • Will need to use a computer for email, training, procedures, etc.
  • Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information with employees at all levels on a daily basis.

Compensation:

The starting base salary is $106,831/year - $155,388/year plus differential. Individual compensation will vary over time based on factors such as performance, skill level, competencies, work location, and shift.
