Production Manager

Penumbra is seeking a highly skilled Production Manager to join our team in Alameda, California. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for overseeing all production activities and ensuring that processes are performed according to current standard operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the production process and schedule to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Estimate production costs and ensure that production is cost-effective.
- Monitor production processes and maintain schedules to ensure timely delivery of finished products.
- Determine human and material resource requirements to support production activities.
- Establish and maintain quality standards, implement quality control programs, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with different departments, including purchasing, engineering, and quality assurance, to implement company policies and goals.
- Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed and that employees are trained and equipped to perform their duties safely.
- Participate in the selection, training, and evaluation of production supervisors and training coordinators.
- Identify training needs and develop training programs to support employee development.
- Manage and develop staff, establish objectives and assignments, and provide ongoing feedback through performance reviews and development plans.
- Adhere to the Company's Quality Management System (QMS) and ensure compliance with domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures.
- Understand relevant security, privacy, and compliance principles and adhere to applicable regulations, standards, and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of supervisory experience in the medical device or related industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop team members and to address performance issues effectively.
- Experience with MRP and lean manufacturing is highly desired.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, 3 pm to 11:30 pm.
Working Conditions:
- General office, laboratory, and cleanroom environments.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site. May have business travel from 0% - 10%.
- Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
- Requires some lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to move between buildings and floors.
- Must be able to remain stationary and use a microscope, cleanroom or laboratory equipment, or other standard office equipment, for an extensive period of time each day.
- Will need to use a computer for email, training, procedures, etc.
- Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information with employees at all levels on a daily basis.
Compensation:
The starting base salary is $106,831/year - $155,388/year plus differential. Individual compensation will vary over time based on factors such as performance, skill level, competencies, work location, and shift.
