Position Summary
The Technical Program Manager will spearhead and manage projects that focus on sensing technologies across the electromagnetic spectrum. This position requires a strong foundation in scientific disciplines such as physics, engineering, or chemistry to effectively translate customer needs into actionable project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate, plan, and execute Research and Development (R&D) projects related to optical, laser, and radio frequency detection technologies.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of costs, schedules, and performance metrics for R&D initiatives to advance technologies through various technology readiness levels (TRLs).
- Collaborate on the creation of strategic planning documents to address capability gaps.
- Facilitate and engage in meetings, working groups, and integrated product teams associated with R&D projects.
- Regularly liaise with the program manager from AFTAC's Systems Development Directorate.
- Review and finalize contract documents and deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare and present materials for program reviews, cost assessments, risk evaluations, and other necessary briefings.
- Travel to attend meetings and develop strategic planning documents, with travel comprising approximately 15-20% of the role.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in managing projects, achieving objectives, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Technical background with experience in project management.
- Familiarity with requirements management and operational processes.
- Knowledge of the electromagnetic spectrum.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Experience with project management tools (MS Project, Jira/Confluence, etc.).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with government contracts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented leader capable of meeting deadlines and working independently.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and collaborate with a diverse group of professionals.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field with 5-8 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 5 years of experience.
Additional Information
- Must pass a drug test.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Must possess a fully adjudicated U.S. Government-issued security clearance at the time of hire.
