Commercial Lending Manager

This is a leadership role within the Commercial Lending department at Security Federal Savings Bank. The Commercial Development Manager/Commercial Lender will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with commercial business owners and industries, promoting growth of the bank's commercial loan portfolio, and aggressively creating and growing the commercial department.
Key Responsibilities- Establish initial contact and acquire new business relationships with area industries and commercial business owners.
- Attract new consumer relationships and promote growth of the bank's commercial loan portfolio.
- Solicit, structure, approve, and close loan commitments.
- Participate in and promote the financial institution's community activities.
- Review, execute, and practice objectives within the bank's Strategic Plan.
- Maximize bank profitability through appropriate pricing of new loan originations, fee income, and selling of bank products and services.
- Negotiate terms, structure loan financing based on risk considerations, and present credits for approval as required.
- Monitor commercial loan portfolio to ensure proper risk ratings and early identification of potential problems.
- Take loan applications, complete financial statements, negotiate terms, and close loans on major projects and substantial loan requests.
- Promote and participate in the financial institution's special credit programs and other CRA programs.
- Support the collection of delinquent loans.
- Adjust quickly to different work situations and demands, remain composed under pressure, and during stressful situations.
- Adjust to changes within the organization and portray a positive image to others in reference to those changes.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor Degree with a minimum of 5 years lending experience and working knowledge of the banking industry, rules, and regulations.
- Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with staff and management.
- Good analytical and organizational skills and ability to support and maintain strong and positive working rapport with various Bank departments.
- Working knowledge of arithmetic and its applications.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to use internet and business applications that require use of internet.
- Successful completion of in-house training programs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of new accounts operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of consumer lending.
- Exceptional customer service and professional skills.
- Strong telephone skills.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently, delegate, and make decisions.
- Team Player.
- Valid driver's License.
