Position Overview

The primary objective of this role is to proficiently oversee extensive and intricate supplier procurement processes while fostering cross-functional collaborations, ensuring that optimal purchasing practices are consistently implemented. This position also entails the development, execution, and management of strategic sourcing initiatives and commodity strategies, supporting new product launches and integrated product teams in alignment with Meggitt's policies and directives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee complex supplier relationships to guarantee achievement of quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness objectives, efficiently addressing and escalating issues to minimize business impact.
  2. Negotiate and finalize contracts as necessary, ensuring adherence to complex contractual commitments.
  3. Drive annual cost reduction initiatives and mitigate supplier cost escalations, while being accountable for commodity Purchase Cost Variance (PCV) performance.
  4. Facilitate seamless transitions from new product introductions to serial production by collaborating effectively with procurement team members and other functions.
  5. Act as a procurement representative on assigned New Product Introduction and Integrated Product Teams, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
  6. Manage procurement activities related to new product introductions, including customer requirement flow down, quotation processes, risk assessments, and supplier engagement.
  7. Support strategic make-or-buy decisions and contribute to cross-functional manufacturing strategy development.
  8. Conduct extensive spend category requests for quotations, evaluations, negotiations, and sourcing activities to secure a comprehensive range of products and services that meet performance targets.
  9. Oversee daily procurement operations, addressing issues related to obsolescence, engineering changes, pricing discrepancies, and defective materials.
  10. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  11. Lead cross-functional and senior-level meetings to ensure effective resolution of procurement-related issues.
  12. Manage supply chain performance metrics, reviewing purchasing effectiveness and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  13. Collaborate with major suppliers to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and cost savings.
  14. Lead product development initiatives and supplier capacity assessments in support of departmental objectives.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience
