Job Description:
Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Education Teacher to join our team at ProCare Therapy. In this role, you will work closely with educators, parents, and specialists to ensure that each student receives the tailored support and resources they need to succeed both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs): Create and implement personalized education plans for students with special needs.
- Adapt Instruction to Accommodate Diverse Learning Needs: Modify teaching methods to meet the unique needs of students with varying abilities.
- Employ Instructional Techniques and Technologies: Utilize various teaching methods and technologies to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
- Monitor and Assess Student Progress: Regularly evaluate student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with Educators and Specialists: Work closely with general education teachers, counselors, and specialists to enhance student learning and development.
- Maintain Communication with Parents/Guardians: Regularly update parents/guardians on student progress and objectives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or Related Field: Possess a degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Masters Degree Preferred: A master's degree is preferred but not required.
- Valid Special Education Teaching License or Eligibility: Hold a valid Special Education teaching license or be eligible for certification.
- Experience Working with Diverse Student Needs: Possess experience working with students who have diverse learning needs and disabilities.
- Strong Knowledge of IEP Development and Implementation: Have a strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Assistive Technology and Adaptive Equipment: Possess experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
- Familiarity with Behavior Management Techniques and Positive Behavior Support Strategies: Have familiarity with behavior management techniques and positive behavior support strategies.
- Ability to Work Effectively as Part of a Collaborative Team: Possess the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
