Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the functionality of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
  • Collaborate effectively with system and network administration teams, as well as program leadership.
  • Deliver hands-on system administration, maintenance, and operational support independently.
  • Assist in the construction, configuration, and troubleshooting of software and hardware enhancements, application deployments, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Diagnose and resolve server and network system issues efficiently.
  • Maintain continuous lab status to ensure the availability of system records.
  • Facilitate consistent technical direction and understanding between government and contractor personnel.
  • Engage with Senior Engineers on advanced IT architecture evaluations and development.
  • Manage multiple architectural IT applications across the Modeling and Simulation (M&S) asset.
  • Ensure uniform IT processes, practices, and documentation throughout the M&S asset.
  • Provide operational support five days a week, ensuring daily assistance for development and operational assets, with a willingness to travel.
  • Travel domestically and internationally, approximately 25% of the time.
  • Perform additional IT duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with RHEL 6/7/8/9 System Administration.
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, repair, operate, and maintain computer and network equipment.
  • Proficient in building both physical and virtual RHEL systems.
  • Possession of at least one Linux certification (e.g., Linux+, LPIC, RHCSA, RHCE).
  • Compliance with DoD 8570 IAT level II employment requirements (e.g., Security+ CE or higher).
  • Capability to obtain a US Passport.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with VMWare ESXi virtualized environments.
  • Familiarity with RHEL 8 & RHEL 9.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as bash and python.
  • Experience with workflow automation (e.g., CRON).
  • Knowledge of Ansible, Satellite, HBSS (ESS), RSA server/client, and various development and operational techniques.
  • Understanding of networks and Cisco IOS and devices.
  • Previous experience with Missile Defense Agency (MDA) or Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS).
