About the Role

Diaconia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux System Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our high-performance computing cluster.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough root-cause analysis of service interruptions and implement preventive measures to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor user workloads to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to optimize system performance.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of guidelines, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Perform system administration tasks, including user and group management, security permissions, and policy enforcement.
  • Monitor system health using existing management tools and respond promptly to hardware issues as they arise.
  • Design, implement, and maintain solutions that meet customer needs and exceed expectations.
Required Qualifications
  • U.S. Citizenship with active DoD Top Secret Clearance and eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information Access (TS//SCI) and Counterintelligence (CI) Scope Polygraph within 180 days of hire.
  • Certification at DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+ CE, ISC2 SSCP, or equivalent).
  • Bachelor's degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) field.
  • At least five years of experience in each of the following areas: directly configuring and administering a large Linux operating system based high-performance computing cluster, directly configuring and administering computers and operating systems, directly configuring and administering Cisco Networking equipment in a high-performance computing cluster, and directly configuring and administering TORQUE/Moab in a high-performance computing environment using multiple queues.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, and Bourne shell scripting languages that directly support administration of high-performance computing clusters.
  • Directly configuring and administering NetApp Storage devices running Data OnTap.
  • Successfully installing and configuring both the MPICH and Open MPI implementation of the Message Passing Interface (MPI) software infrastructure in a Linux operating system based high-performance computing cluster.
  • Utilizing both the FORTRAN and C programming languages and have experience installing and configuring compilers and successfully compiling code written in these two languages.
  • Hardware troubleshooting, including Power, Mainboard, CPUs, PCIe, RAM, Local Storage, and Network.
  • Linux workstation and/or server operating system administration, including RHEL 8/9, Rocky 8/9, CentOS 7/8.
  • Operating Environment Certification, including Linux Professional Institute (LPI) LPIC-1, LPI LPIC-2, CompTIA Linux+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or equivalent Linux certification.
  • Containerized workload management, including Apptainer, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Podman, Pyrix, Enroot.
  • Data center virtualization, including VMware Horizon, vCenter, ESXi, Hyper-V, Nutanix, AppVol, Grid, KVM, Qemu, RHEV.
  • Enterprise and data center storage management, including DDN, NetApp, Quantum, Spectra Logic, NAS, SAN, GPFS, NFS, CIFS, Lustre.
  • HPC Scheduling, including Slurm, Torque, PBS, MOAB, Kubernetes, LSF.
  • Network administration and management, including InfiniBand, Ethernet, RDMA, RoCE, Virtualized, Cisco, Cisco ACI, Nvidia, Mellanox, TCP/IP, Route/Switch, VLANS, VXLAN.
  • Network protocols, services, and infrastructure, including DNS, DHCP, FTP, TFTP, NTP, SNMP, NFS, SMB/CIFS, LDAP.
  • Programming/scripting in high-level languages, including C, C++, Perl, Python, Bash, PowerShell.
  • Patch and security management and orchestrations, including SCCM, Ansible, Spack, Puppet.
