Founders Federal Credit Union is a leading financial institution dedicated to providing exceptional services to its members. As a Senior Litigation Attorney, you will play a crucial role in protecting the credit union's interests and upholding its commitment to quality service.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Attorney with 3-5 years of background in creditor's rights litigation to join our team as a Senior Litigation Attorney. This position requires strong analytical and judgment skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities
  • Provide trusted legal guidance to the credit union, interpreting laws and regulations to ensure compliance and protect the organization's interests.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to advise on legal matters, prepare cases for collection efforts, and appear in North Carolina courts on behalf of the credit union.
  • Negotiate with third-party counsel to resolve issues related to collection efforts or probate matters.
  • Support the SVP-Legal in assessing risk factors of proposed business decisions and developing options to minimize exposure.
  • Remain up-to-date on pending legislation and regulatory changes affecting the credit union's business practices or initiatives.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of lending guidelines, FFCU Loan Policy, and federal regulations and laws, including ECOA, Fair Housing Act, Truth in Lending, HMDA, RESPA, and BSA.
Requirements
  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina with 3-5 years of experience in creditor's rights litigation.
  • Ability to produce work efficiently, with well-developed verbal and written communication skills, and excellent analytical and judgment skills.
  • Solid working knowledge of lending policies and procedures, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products.
Estimated Salary Range

$90,000 - $130,000 per annum, commensurate with experience.
